For a long time, China is a big country of demanding machine tool and to be predicted like this for many years in the future! The machine tool industry must seize the opportunity to integrate the latest achievements of today's science and technology into products, especially AI, 5g technology and so on. Traditional machine tools move from precision towards more precision, towards nano-scale and towards intelligence...
The machine tool industry should pay attention to the future of intelligent manufacturing, and should instantly make up the lesson of "microcosm". Under the demand of the precision characteristic of machine tool, we find that there are so much knowledge in microcosm to help us lifting: microcosm, microcosm method, microcosm analysis, microcosm engineering, microcosm manufacture.., let us go into the micro world to x-ray the cognition of "General Manufacturing" in micro world: walking into the micro world we find many new theories and new physical knowledge in machine tool manufacturing, in which a lot of novel affairs gathered....
In practice, we find that the structure, stability, performance and precision of machine tools are guaranteed in micro-manufacturing, micro-engineering and superfine process. Through micro-analysis and revised design, the performance of machine tool will be greatly improved. Via sensing the structural deformation and health state of the machine tool, the micro-regulation, self-diagnosis and self-adaptive control will be carried out.

We are going through profound changes unseen in a century, world economy and international manufacture industry structural change has been deepened. During 13th Five-Year Plan period, China machine tool industry was largely stressed, and with sudden blow of COVID-19 pandemic, the industry had been under persistent downward pressure. For the 14th Five-Year Plan period, international environment becomes more complicated, instability and uncertainty broadly increase, and economic globalization has run up against headwinds, the world economy is in the doldrums.

The 17th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT2021) sponsored by CMTBA and co-organized by CMTBA and CIEC will be held in the period from Apr.12 to 17 at China International Exhibition Center (New venue), Beijing. I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere invitation to colleagues in and outside the industry, businessmen and friends both old and new welcoming them to visit, exchange, discuss cooperation and friendship.
At present, China's development is facing a severe and complex international situation, arduous and heavy development and stability tasks of domestic reform, especially the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the economy has been under tremendous downward pressure. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) takes overall responsibility, maintains strategic focus, and makes timely major decisions on the overall prevention and control of pandemic and economic and social development. The Chinese people have made great achievements through arduous efforts. Our economy has improved quarter by quarter and gradually returned to normal, becoming the only major economy in the world that has achieved positive economic growth. Since CIMT was founded more than 30 years, it has persisted in taking the road of internationalization and specialization, focusing on showing the world's most advanced manufacturing technology and equipment, and won the support of national and regional machine tool associations and trade promotion agencies, the full support of domestic and foreign machine tool enterprises and users' enterprises. It has successfully held 16 sessions so far, and has made great contributions to China's reform and opening-up, innovation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry. At present, the global COVID-19 pandemic is still severe, and the domestic pandemic prevention is becoming normalization, CIMT2021 exhibition successfully held on schedule is not easy. It has still attracted more than 1,500 manufacturers from 27 countries and regions. Machine tool associations and trade promotion agencies from 13 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, Japan and Switzerland, take part in the show in the form of pavilion. The total area of the exhibition reaches 135,000 square meters.
In 2020, China's machine tool & tool consumption market was characterized by a large low opening, sustained recovery, and growth at end. The total consumption of metalworking machine tool was 21.31 billion US dollars, decreased by 4.5% year on year. Total production was 19.36 billion US dollars, decreased by 0.7% year on year. Total export was 4.02 billion US dollars, decreased by 8.6% year on year. Total import is US 5.97 billion US dollars, decreased by 18.1% year on year. Based on the analysis of the above data on consumption, production, import and export, and the monthly statistical data and the trend of other leading indicators such as orders from the key liaison enterprises, the total number of new orders for metalworking machine tool was increased by 17.3% year on year, in-hand orders was increased by 14.4% year-on-year. 2021, China's metalworking machine tool consumer market reaches bottom and rebounds, showing continuously growth since the fourth quarter of last year, it’s very rare amid the general sharp decline on the global machine tool market.
The year of 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, a year of special importance in the course of the country's modernization drive. Supply side reform will continue to deepen, and high quality development will become the development theme. New Technologies, represented by new generation information technology, robotic, Internet of things, industrial Internet, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, converging and developing with traditional manufacturing will also bring new opportunities and challenges to China's machine tool & tool industry.
