First, please allow me, on behalf of the sponsor and co-organizers of the 10th China International Machine Tool Show, to extend my warmest welcome and express my heartfelt thanks to all friends from the media! Sponsored by China Machine Tool and Tool Builders’ Association and co-organized with China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation, the 10th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT2007) will be held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing on April 9-15. Prior to the opening of the exhibition, we have invited friends from the media to attend today’s press conference, introducing to you relevant information about the exhibition and hoping media friends present here today will give strong support to us and make sufficient news report about the exhibition. Since its debut in Shanghai in 1989, CIMT is held in Beijing in every odd-number year. In the past 20 years, CIMT has been held successfully for nine times, thanks to the strong support from relevant government leaders and colleagues of the industry as well as the strong support from machine tool associations from different countries and regions and enterprises. Up to date, CIMT has become the largest professional international machine tool exhibition with top quality in China. It has also become one of the four major world-renowned international machine tool exhibitions. Preparatory work for CIMT2007 has basically been completed. But, because the new China International Exhibition Center has not completed its construction as scheduled, two temporary exhibition halls have to be set up at the existing China International Exhibition Center for the holding of CIMT2007. Exhibition floor space totals 72,000 square meters. Despite the fact that exhibition space is not sufficient enough to satisfy the needs of participating enterprises, more than 1,100 companies from 28 countries and regions (about half of the exhibitors are from abroad) have been arranged to participate in the exhibition due to our careful plan and coordination. Among the exhibition firms, all world-renowned enterprises of machine tool, tools, CNC systems and key components for CNC machine tool will be present at the exhibition, displaying more than 1,200 units of machine tools and over 10,000 items of measuring and cutting tools, CNC systems, key components for CNC machine tool and accessories. The exhibit list we have received shows that various products to be exhibited represent the latest development trend of the world manufacturing technology today and are a collection of top-class products of the industry. During the exhibition, China Machine Tool and Tool Builders’ Association, all exhibition delegations and enterprises will hold a series of activities; machine tool associations from other countries and regions, and exhibition delegations and enterprises will also hold various activities such as pavilion day, press conferences and receptions. It is foreseeable that CIMT2007 will be a grand gathering of the world machine tool industry and is set to achieve fruitful results with the characteristics of “innovation and development, harmony and win-win”.
